Pentecost Sunday

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere... – Jesus in Acts 1:8.

Before Jesus ascended to heaven he gave this final promise to his disciples that the Holy Spirit would come upon and give them power to spread the good news about Jesus.  The disciples had already received so much from Jesus.  They had spent three years following Jesus, helping Jesus and participating with him in his miracles.  What more did they need?

But the incredible wonder about being a follower of Jesus is that God always has something more to give us.  Indeed, the truth is, following Jesus is an eternal journey of discovery and experiencing more and more of Almighty God. Therefore, don’t let your Christian life grow stale. God has so much more for you!  Simply keep your heart positioned to receive everything that God has for you.
