Be Healed

A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said.  Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed. Mark 1: 40 – 42.

From this story we learn:

  1. That Jesus Christ is moved with compassion for those who are unwell. If you are unwell then Jesus is moved with compassion towards you. Your suffering…great or small…is of concern to Jesus.
  2. That Jesus Christ is willing to heal. This man would have never known about the willingness of Jesus to heal him if he had stayed away. Instead, he came to Jesus and discovered that Jesus was willing to heal him. Jesus is willing to heal you too.
  3. That Jesus had authority over leprosy. Jesus also has authority over  your sickness and situation. Today, let’s relax in the Presence of the Holy Spirit and allow him to wash over us with his grace and power.
